AI tools for early-stage startups
191 days have passed since ChatGPT was launched on November 30th, 2022.
And thousands of startups that use this technology have been created since.
Deividas Mataciunas speech entry at the Lithuanian event “Sales Formula 2023” sounded similar.
Therefore I invited Deividas, a Technical Data Analyst at Sunrise and Chairman of the Board of AI Association of Lithuania, to help me write this post.
As Deividas is an aficionado of Artificial intelligence, I have asked him to name a few tools he would recommend using. Here are they.
🔨 For your daily tasks:
Mem.ai – AI knowledge assistant.
Odin.ai – an advanced ChatGPT alternative that will do the work for you.
Lavender – sales email coach & personalization assistant.
Otter.ai – a tool that will make notes while you speak in meetings.
Browse.ai – easy way to extract and monitor data from any website.
Tome – building storytelling presentations with the help of AI.
Spellbook – create contracts, human resource documents, NDAs, etc.
ScribeHow – makes a step-by-step visual guide of your process.
🤝 For teamwork:
Notion AI – for your team’s virtual HQs and to generate content, generate new ideas.
Slack AI – helping to communicate in a faster and smarter way.
Box AI – will make your organizational files more valuable and useful. (Mainly for enterprise).
💻 Marketing/content creation
ChatGPT – a no brainer. :)
Midjourney – create visuals with a few steps.
Runway – helps to convert text/story into video or image.
Jasper.ai – a great tool for copywriting.
Copy.ai – helps generate blogs, product descriptions, sales emails, and more.
RYTR – AI assistant for emails.
Quillbot – AI-powered paraphrasing tool.
Mind-video – from thoughts to videos.
Watermarkremover – remove watermarks for your images.
🤖 API Integrations that could help for any product you want to build: GPT-4, Anthropic, Cohere, Huggingface.
👋 Google is not that efficient anymore for search, therefore, we can see that new search engine players are coming, which can personalize your search. Such as Perplexity, Bing AI, Bard, YOU AI.
And here is an interesting article from A16Z – why AI will save the world or not?
Some other questions & topics I talked with Deividas:
As there are many different tools, how would you suggest not getting lost in this era? Where to check all the news?
We are in a bubble now, and you will probably be lost in all the information.
But there are a few ways to be on top of the news in this industry.
Twitter is the primary channel for anything related to AI. Following the right accounts will make you on top of the news daily.
TechCrunch is also a great place to get all the news.
Deividas is collecting all the information and sharing it with the audience in his AI Connections newsletter. Check it out!
What product or service do you wish existed?
Email assistant that could moderate emails and schedule meets. There are some tools that currently do something similar, but nothing efficient yet, nothing that would be super simple to use and would have plugins.
What are you bullish on?
Companies that are doing extensive research on AI. Investors trust them and will give quite a lot of money.
Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez mentioned that companies that are able to come from scientific research to a product and give it to customers quickly will thrive.
What are you bearish on?
All the AI hype that was for the last half a year.
And that now it is simple to create a Unicorn with an Open AI engine or API. You can make money, but it is probably tough to create a huge company by being dependent on some other tool.
Don’t use one engine for your product. Use 2-3 and have an edge on the engineering side.
And that’s a wrap about today’s topic, “AI & startups? 🤔”
Fill in this short feedback form. Thank you!
